Salted hot chocolate

The most delicious homemade cup of hot cocoa with chocolate shavings and Maldon sea salt.


Ingredients

1 cup good-quality milk chocolate, chopped

1 cup good-quality dark chocolate, chopped

4 cups whole milk

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

1 tablespoon sugar

Chocolate shavings, to garnish Hawaiian pink sea salt, to garnish


Preparation

In large bowl, place chocolate. In small saucepan, over low heat, warm milk until it almost simmers. Pour milk over chopped chocolate and allow to rest for 1 minute or until chocolate melts.

Using a hand-held blender, combine mixture and pour into 4 large mugs. In clean bowl, using an electric mixer, whip cream until it begins to thicken, add sugar and continue whipping until soft peaks form. To serve, garnish with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and pinch Maldon sea salt.
