Best homemade Pizza With San Marzano tomato sauce, Anchovies, Olives And Capers

This pizza is outstanding! Use the best ingredients and yes anchovies, incredible, you'll need a good bottle of red for this one!


Ingredients

1 pizza dough, use a good-quality store-bought

6 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided

1/2 cup pizza sauce, see recipe here

1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

10 anchovies in olive oil

1 1/2 cups Kalamata olives

1/4 cup capers in brine

Basil leaves, torn


Preparation

Preheat oven to 500ºF, or as hot as you can get your home oven. Preheat your pizza stone, or baking sheet or skillet or what ever you are using to cook your pizza. Remove form oven just before stretching dough onto it. This ensure your bottom crust is crisping.

Stretch pizza dough balls into 2 large rounds. Transfer each to baking sheet/stone/skillet. Drizzle each with 3 teaspoons olive oil and top with sauce. Then top with mozzarella; then arrange the anchovies on top, then olives and capers. Bake for 5-8 minutes or until the crusts are crisp and tops golden. Top with basil leaves. Serves 4.
