From a very young age, I had a profound longing to make a difference, to share my experiences, to bring about a message of love and kindness. To remind us that life is precious and that each day and each moment is special, regardless of our situation.
And then one day an idea presented iteself. A beautiful magazine with a unique concept that would inspire readers to make every day special, to bring my love of food and entertaining to life.
As much of the inspiration for the magazine derives from my own family traditions, I decided the magazine should be named ANNA, after my Mother. As a frugal homemaker, she used only fresh local ingredients and took the time to make things special. She tended beautiful gardens and transformed the produce into luxurious jams, jellies and preserves. Fresh strawberries, large plump tomatoes, farm fresh eggs, whipping cream, homemade bread and handmade pasta were the norm. Long before organic became fashionable, I was privileged to enjoy this way of life.
Although named after my Mother, it was my father´s entrepreneurial spirit that taught me anything is possible. So, with my home kitchen as a test kitchen and my dining room as a photography studio, the magazine was borne. As I always believed that when you finally find that which you are meant to do, the universe conspires to make it happen. So to me it makes perfect sense that today, ANNA Magazine is sold in bookstores and magazine shelves throughout Canada and the US.
I am so proud of our accomplishments. ANNA Magazine is beautiful, unique and extraordinary. I hope you agree!
